Health & Safety Technician (EHS) - 1st Shift
About the role
Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Health & Safety Technician (EHS) - 1st Shift.
Responsibilities
- Supports environmental, health, safety, and security efforts at the site under the direction of the EHS Manager and/or EHS Lead Analyst.
- Maintains EHS systems and processes, reports regulatory and performance data, supports training initiatives, assists with incident investigations, and drives continuous improvement activities aligned with Eaton’s Zero Incident Safety Culture.
- Assists EHS Manager to implement (Safety, Security and Health initiatives) and utilize tools to drive local improvements.
- Conduct workstation risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
- Affixes to track appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance.
- Partners with subject matter champions and facilitates their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements.
- Promotes and reinforces zero incident EHS culture throughout site.
- Works with EHS Manager and MESH Element Champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS federal, state, and local regulations.
- Creates training matrices and leads training sessions to ensure that assigned training is defined, completed, and tracked in accordance with an annual plan.
- Completes training and executes duties as assigned to ensure site compliance to various regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
- 2 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment or relevant industrial/construction experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Previous experience coordinating and leading training, making presentations, and talking in front of groups
- Previous training related to Environmental, Health and Safety

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and willingness to engage in conversation with a variety of employees, contractors, guests, visitors, etc. in a positive and professional manner.
- Proven ability to engage and motivate employees in safety initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and reporting.
- Encourages and promotes a positive safety culture through engagement, feedback and preventative measures.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Physical Requirements
- Utilizes proper PPE (including protective eyewear, hearing protection, a hard hat and steel-toed footwear), safety equipment, and follows all safety procedures.
- Ability and willingness to work outside in all weather conditions, including cold and heat.
- Ability to work from heights.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to walk distances.
- Ability to bend, climb and reach.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Clarity of vision, with or without corrective lenses.
