Health & Safety Specialist

About the role

Located in Semora, NC; Terrell, NC; or Cayuga, IN. This position serves as an Owner representative responsible for basic technical work across health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with organizational H&S standards and federal, state, and local regulations. Works under general supervision, often self‑directed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and observe work activity, providing technical and intervention direction to prevent and control H&S incidents and hazards.
• Recommend improvements to processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize hazard potential.
• Maintain current knowledge of governmental agency requirements and internal programs, procedures, and processes.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel on environmental, health, or safety programs.
• Assist work teams and vendors in resolving concerns and compliance deficiencies.
• Know and apply H&S contractual requirements to ensure full understanding of expectations.
• Ensure a safe work environment by identifying and correcting H&S‑related hazards and risks.
