What You'll Do
- Responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety for the St. Louis plant.
- The Health & Safety Specialist is the leader and point of contact for internal, external, regulatory audits.
- EHS Program Development and Management - develops & implements site programs, policies & procedures conforming to Henkel EHS mandates.
- Evaluates proposed projects & new chemicals for EHS compliance.
- Conducts safety inspections, ensuring documentation & corrective actions for deficiencies.
- Investigates incidents/accidents/near misses, determines root causes & implements corrective action plans.
- Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Compliance - Lead projects for continuous improvement in the "Zero Incident Safety Culture" program, manage 5S Culture, ensures a zero-incident EHS culture site wide.
- Care for employees’ injuries and illnesses and administer First Aid for Employees injuries.
- Establishes, processes and maintains injury files for all injuries requiring medical treatment.
- Processes and forwards First report of injury to the State Industrial Commissioner as dictated by State Law.
- Administer Worker’s Compensation and investigate occupational injuries and accidents.
- Prepare Safety reports to satisfy OSHA and specific safety requirements and maintains the OSHA Log.
- Develop and implement safety programs as assigned for the plant.
- Provides training or resources for CPR and First Aid Training and health-oriented learning and wellness programs, including a health fair.
What Makes You a Good Fit
- Strong Analytical and communication skills – demonstrated ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Safety and health or similar required 5 plus years of experience in Safety and Health in a manufacturing environment.
- Certifications, if not current, will need to be obtained for CPR instructor, Pulmonary Function Testing, and in Occupational Heating Conservation.
- Fundamental Skills in MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, Visio and Power BI reporting are preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.
- Experience with Respirator Fit Testing.
- Experience in performing and / or evaluating audiograms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or other related discipline with 5-7 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Information Management/Computer Skills
- Solid knowledge in the use and features of the suite of Microsoft packages (especially Access and Excel).

- Clear, accurate, and effective verbal and written communication in formal and informal settings.
Interpersonal
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with managers and employees at all levels.

Pay Range
The hourly pay range for this role is $88,000.00-$100,000.00. This range reflects the good-faith minimum and maximum hourly rate the Company reasonably expects to offer for this position at the time of posting. This role is classified as non-exempt, and employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. In addition to the hourly wage, employees in this position may be eligible for shift differentials, premium pay, bonuses, or other forms of compensation, depending on role and location.
