How you will make an impact:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of work areas, equipment, and processes to ensure adherence to safety standards
- Provide training and education to employees on safety practices, environmental requirements, and emergency response procedures
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend effective mitigation strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and records, including compliance reports, incident logs, and training records
- Advise management and employees on OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements and best practices
- Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce incidents, improve awareness, and strengthen overall safety culture
Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
- Required: Accredited BS in industrial hygiene, environmental science, occupational safety, or a related field, or equivalent experience; minimum of 5 years of relevant health, safety, and environmental experience; sound working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations; experience with project management, research methods, report writing, and record-keeping practices; proficiency with standard computer applications used for documentation and reporting; for all U.S. positions: Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to demonstrate and maintain suitability for employment in a position of Public Trust
- PREFERRED: Advanced certifications such as OHST, ASP, CSP, and/or CIH
