Health, Safety, Environmental, & Quality Lead
About the role
The Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving the organization’s Health & Safety programs, Environmental Management System (EMS), and Quality Management System (QMS).
This role ensures compliance with applicable regulatory, customer, and internal requirements while supporting operational excellence, risk reduction, employee safety, and customer satisfaction.
The HSEQ Leader works closely with leadership, operations, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and field service teams to promote a culture of quality, safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Develop and administer company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Cook up safety training and employee awareness programs.
Cook up safety documentation, records, and reporting.
Cook up safety coordination with contractors and field safety compliance.
Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
Quality Management
Maintain compliance and improve the company’s QMS (ISO 9001), EMS (ISO 14001) and CSIA certifications.
Cook up, maintain, and control documented procedures, policies, work instructions, and quality records.
Lead CAPA and root cause investigations.
Monitor quality performance metrics and prepare management reporting.
Support customer quality inquiries, audits, corrective actions, and supplier quality initiatives.
Cook up with operations and engineering teams to improve processes, reduce defects, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Oversee nonconforming non-conforming processes and products.
Environmental Management
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and permits.
Monitor environmental objectives, targets, and performance indicators.
Cook up, coordinate waste management, recycling, and environmental reporting activities.
Support environmental risk assessments and emergency preparedness activities.
Aid with sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Provide leadership and guidance related to quality, safety, and environmental objectives.
Participate in management review meetings and strategic planning activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
Interface with customers, suppliers, auditors, and regulatory agencies as required.
Aid with development and monitoring of departmental KPIs and objectives.
Promote collaboration and accountability across all business groups.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining highest levels of productivity and accountability.
Ability to identify priorities, problem solve, and complete tasks.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality management within manufacturing, industrial automation, or related industries.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and CSIA standards.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements.
Experience leading audits, investigations, and corrective action processes.
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with quality management documentation systems.
Internal Auditor certification or related certifications preferred.
Experience
Experience in industrial automation, controls, panel fabrication, or manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
Familiarity with environmental compliance and sustainability programs.
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to walk office, manufacturing, and warehouse environments regularly.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to travel periodically to affiliate, customer, and/or supplier locations, as required.
