About the role
MWH is currently seeking a qualified Health & Safety Specialist to oversee project safety protocols and procedures. This position will be based out of Gresham, Oregon.
Essential Functions
- Establishes and promotes a healthy and safe work environment.
- Oversees the implementation and maintenance of environmental health and safety management systems.
- Emphasizes accountability around safety policies and decisions.
- Aids in the development and implementation of project, regional, and corporate safety strategy companywide.
- Works closely with project leadership to create a safe working environment.
- Instrumental in training the company’s employees in safety-related issues and techniques.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma/GED or two-year degree in occupational safety, environmental safety and health, health management, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years construction experience and 3 years of safety experience on a construction site.
- The ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures as needed.
- A knowledge of OSHA.
