Key Responsibilities

• Work well with others, positive and upbeat attitude
• Represent the Department in investigating complaint allegations of licensed healthcare providers on behalf of the 34 health-related boards for the State of Tennessee
• Conduct in-person interviews of complainants, witnesses, and respondents to determine the veracity of the allegations filed against a licensed healthcare provider
• Collect, evaluate, and process evidence
• Prepare written reports documenting the findings of the investigation
• Cookordination with law enforcement agencies (State and Federal) throughout the state of Tennessee regarding allegations of criminal activity by licensed healthcare providers
• Cookordination throughout the life of the investigation with the Office of General Counsel

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field with at least five years of full-time investigative experience conducting healthcare investigations, or
• A bachelor's degree in nursing and experience equivalent to three years of full-time, increasingly responsible professional nursing

Substitution of Experience for Education

• Qualifying full-time experience in nursing or healthcare investigations may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two years
• Additional graduate coursework in nursing or healthcare investigations may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of one year

Pay

Annual Salary: $60,600

Schedule

This position is designated as Hybrid.
