Responsibilities
- Write, test, and maintain clean, efficient, and scalable Python code to support various health-related software projects.
- Implement backend services, APIs, and integrations with other systems, including healthcare platforms (e.g., EHR/EMR systems).
- Collaborate with senior developers and other team members to troubleshoot and debug code effectively.
- Develop and optimize interactions with databases such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
- Write queries and ensure proper data manipulation, retrieval, and storage for healthcare applications.
- Perform data validation and ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Assist in designing and building RESTful APIs, enabling data exchange between healthcare systems.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews to identify and resolve programming errors.
- Implement test automation scripts to ensure the continued reliability and performance of applications.
- Actively participate in debugging issues and fixing bugs across development and production environments.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, senior engineers, and quality assurance teams, to deliver solutions that meet business and customer requirements.
- Document code, workflows, and best practices to support team knowledge-sharing and long-term platform maintainability.
- Stay updated on new tools, technologies, and best practices in Python programming and healthcare IT.
- Seek feedback and mentorship from team members to continually improve skills, coding practices, and technical knowledge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional Python programming experience.
- Proficiency with Python, including experience with libraries such as PySpark, Pandas, NumPy, Polars, or similar frameworks.
- Basic understanding of database management and querying using SQL and/or NoSQL databases like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git for collaborative development workflows.
- Experience using Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum), JIRA and other tools to plan Sprints and track the status of changes and testing.
- Experience writing and executing unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with individuals across multiple disciplines.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, concise manner.
Target Salary Range
$70,000 - $104,000
