Health Program Specialist
About the role
The Oswego County Health Department has an immediate opening for a Health Program Specialist to support community-wide public health education programs, immunizations action plans, lead poisoning prevention program, healthy families, and/or other relevant public health programming.
Responsibilities
- Supporting public health grants
- Providing support and services to families of programs through home visits, community outreach, grant writing assistance, and quality assurance
Qualifications
- Possession of an associate degree in psychology, human development, social work, human services, counseling, or closely related field
- OR Possession of an associate degree and one (1) year of experience working with individuals, children and/or families in a health or social services agency, or community services setting
- Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience working with individuals, children and/or families in a health or social services agency, or community services setting
Special Requirements
- Participation in Public Health emergency preparedness drills and responses may be required
- Select immunizations may be required at time of appointment or at any time throughout the course of employment according to New York State Department of Health or other oversight agency requirements

Pay Rate: $24.53 per hour plus competitive benefit package
