About the School

Northeast Ohio College Preparatory School, founded in 2010, is the only public charter school in Cleveland offering a continuous EK-12 college preparatory education. Located in the Tremont neighborhood, the school features separate K-8 and high school buildings with extensive educational facilities. NEO College Prep provides a well-rounded education supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally through nurturing teachers, specialty classes, and a focus on social-emotional wellbeing. The school is part of ACCEL Schools, a network of over 80 public charter schools serving PK-12 students across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans with the ability to modify them during the school year
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction
• Manage student behavior in the classroom
• Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in
• Utilize school-approved curricula reflecting diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms
• Communicate and meet with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning
• Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities, as needed
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)

Requirements

• Active and current Ohio teaching license in Health/Physical Education
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
• High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to properly manage confidential information
• Experience working within an urban environment
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks

Pay

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000. Factors affecting starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
