About the role
The Health Occupation Instructor (RN) position at Education and Training Resources/Oneonta Job Corps Academy provides engaging instruction, administers tests, and evaluates student progress in understanding and proficiency in assigned fields of Career and Technical Training.
Responsibilities
- Provide students with industry-recognized instruction and training
- Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricular changes and supplemental materials
- Administer and correct tests; log, and maintain progress and attendance
- Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
- Manage the classroom by moving about the room to tutor, coach, evaluate, and assist each student as the need arises
- Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits
- Evaluate and supervise students in an on-the-job training experience
- Participate in providing hands-on activities for students in the career preparation program

Qualifications
- Associates of Applied Science (AAS) Degree
- Licensed by the State of New York as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of two years related experience with geriatrics
- Must possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies, classroom management and content field
- Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- High energy level and ability to engage students
- Ability to quickly learn job corps methodologies and strategies
- Ability to use different methods and mediums in delivering course materials
- Ability to effectively respond to students issues as they arise
- Must be proficient in the use of common computer software including Microsoft Office Suite
