Health Information Manager

Position Summary

The Health Information Manager at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles oversees the daily operations of the Health Information Management Department while ensuring patient medical records are maintained accurately, securely, and in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring documentation compliance
• Assisting with audits and surveys
• Maintaining record retention systems
• Serving as a resource for staff regarding medical record documentation and health information processes
• Collaborating with multiple departments throughout the facility

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma with additional training in Health Information Management department functions (i.e. certified health information management technician or other such certification or training).
• Licenses: State of Practice license if applicable.
• Experience: At least 1 year supervisory experience and 5 years as an HIM Manager or an equivalent role. Psychiatric HIM experience preferred.
