Health Information Management (HIM) Director

About the Role

Clinch Valley Health, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Director of Health Information Management to lead a dedicated team in ensuring data accuracy and privacy, supporting clinicians, caregivers, patients, and the community. This full-time, weekday position is 100% onsite at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA, with a salary range of $76,000 - $102,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements.
• Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orientation, evaluation, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
• Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
• Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
• Exhibits comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA) and applies policies and procedures effectively.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
• Previous leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
