About the role
Join Rome Health in Rome, NY, as an Inpatient Coder and play a vital role in our healthcare revenue cycle.
What You Will Do
- Code Encounters: Code discharged inpatient encounters accurately.
- Assign DRGs: Utilize the Clintegrity encoder for precise Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) assignment.
- Collaborate: Work alongside Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) nurses.
- Submit Queries: Clarify documentation with providers when needed.
- Support Quality: Assist with DRG appeals and meet established productivity and quality standards.
- Identify Trends: Help the Coding Manager spot workflow problems or emerging trends.
- Stay Current: Maintain active coding knowledge, certifications, and expertise in Medicare rules.
What You Need
- Education: High School diploma required. Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Certifications: Must hold at least one of the following credentials:RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC.
