Health Info Mgmt Specialist Sr - Mease Countryside

Responsibilities

• Works on-site full-time at Mease Countryside Hospital.
• Ensures a complete and accurate quality electronic medical record.
• Validates and completes the quality review process to ensure integrity and legality of the electronic medical record.
• Ensures timely availability of the electronic medical record for patient care.
• Reviews scanned documents for overall image quality and accuracy of indices assigned during the scanned process according to the timeframe requirements.
• Analyzes medical records for physician completion using Joint Commission standards.
• Performs all aspects of Release of Information, including attending court trials and responding to Subpoenas, and follows up with billing while adhering to HIPAA Guidelines.
• Daily interacts with assisting physicians to complete their medical records.
• Assists the Transcription section with clerical responsibilities and processing of reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in health information management or healthcare front desk receptionist, admitting/registrar, patient financial, medical records, or clerical roles.
• Graduate from an accredited Health Information Technology (HIT) program.

Pay

$25.00 - $27.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional weekends.
