About the role

The Data Engineer will manage the data lifecycle from ETL to data destruction in SQL Server on-prem or Cloud environments. They will also support data analysts and scientists with research and consulting.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate standard business requirements and create data ingestion processes and modeling
  • Support databases and relevant services ensuring data quality and delivery
  • Support data analysts and scientists with research and consulting
  • Manage the data lifecycle from ETL to data destruction in SQL Server on-prem or Cloud environments
  • Work with Principal Investigators and their teams to create analytic datasets in SQL server
  • Monitor the SQL Server execution plans and make modifications to improve performance
  • Work independently on multiple projects
  • Document processes

Requirements

  • Strong SQL Server skills with the ability to write advanced queries
  • Excellent organizational, documentation and communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with cloud services such as Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric, along with an understanding of Spark
  • Experience with tools such as Python, C#, Powershell, Power BI, SAS, Stata, and Web technologies
  • Familiarity with Execution Plans and optimization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT related field
  • 1+ years of relevant experience

Skills

$65,000 - $72,000

Schedule

In-office two days a week and on campus for in-person meetings as required
