Health Care Technician II- Restorative Care Aide (Buncombe County) (Temporary)

About the role
This temporary position is located at 932 Old US 70 Highway, Buncombe County, with the Department of Health and Human Services. The primary purpose of the Restorative Care Aide is to serve as an extension to therapists in the areas of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language. The position provides services, as warranted, in areas of mobility, dining, range of motion, therapeutic bathing, shaving, and/or hygiene. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), this role serves as a liaison to other CNAs in providing leisure and social activities, basic care, and maintenance services in the residential areas served.
BMNTC is a 24-hour residential facility that serves adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders, often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability.
Responsibilities
- Follow directions and work independently while showing initiative.
- Work with others as a team.
- Provide services in mobility, dining, range of motion, therapeutic bathing, shaving, and/or hygiene.
- Serve as a liaison to other CNAs in providing leisure and social activities, basic care, and maintenance services.
Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation (required for continued employment).
- Listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (as applicable).
- North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification (as applicable).
Skills
- Basic understanding of populations served, including neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders.
Management Preferences

Pay
Hourly rate of pay: $20.82 (based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
