About the role

The Health and Wellness Director (HWD) is an integral member of the management team, contributing health care leadership and expertise to promote an environment of optimal living for residents. This role plans, organizes, and directs the overall operation of clinical services in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines to foster the highest degree of quality care. The HWD complies with all local, state, and federal regulations and focuses on employee and resident safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive resident assessments and coordinate individualized care plans.
  • Provide empathetic, personalized care and maintain resident-centric practices.
  • Lead, manage, and inspire a full team through recruiting, interviewing, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Liaise seamlessly with internal staff, third-party vendors, and medical professionals.
  • Lead staff meetings, manage service agreements, and update physician order sheets.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare protocols and standards of care.
  • Oversee proper medication management, complete timely audits, and handle incident reporting and investigations.
  • Assist the community during emergencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date safety and infection control practices.

Requirements

  • Current LVN, LPN, or Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Five to seven years’ experience in a senior care environment preferred.
  • Five years’ previous management experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of standards of care and practices applicable to geriatric services, complex medical conditions, and multiple medical diagnoses.
  • Experience in geriatric nursing or gerontology, including education in the aging process, memory decline, and related behavior management highly preferred.
  • Experience building and leading effective nursing teams, including hiring, training, and development.
  • Strong leadership with a focus on high judgment, diplomacy, and conflict resolution.
  • Mission-oriented, purpose-driven, and demonstrates a joy in serving others.
  • Tenacious in reaching ambitious goals and driven by success for the company.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
