About the role
WITRON is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support multiple locations across the U.S. The ideal candidate should have a robust understanding of OSHA regulations and experience managing safety in an operational or functional support role, preferably in a warehouse/distribution/logistics environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive safety oversight and manage both administrative and field safety responsibilities.
- Monitor project activities, review construction management processes, and design safety procedures, programs, and policies.
- Develop, lead, and train Health and Safety professionals on site.
- Investigate, review, and follow up on construction-related incidents and accidents.
- Serve as the primary contact for critical incident management and regulatory agency audits/inspections.
- Plan, administer, and manage organization safety policies, programs, and trainings.
- Cookinate safety issues with the National Safety Manager, On-Site Manager, and Maintenance Manager.
- Train employees on forklift and other MHE operations, conduct equipment inspections, and monitor operations.
- Conduct management-level loss control reviews for Workers Compensation and Safety Inspections.
- Analyze and present statistical data through technical reports.
- Train and inspect Fall Protection equipment procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in industrial or construction safety, warehouse safety, or a related field.
- Extensive experience managing safety in an operational or functional support role, preferably in a warehouse/distribution/logistics environment.
- In-depth knowledge of General or Construction Industry safety principles, accident prevention, and safety equipment.
- Proficient in operating, training, and inspecting forklifts and other MHE.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface and plan with management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 3 weeks at a time, with 1 week off).
