Duties And Responsibilities
- Field and troubleshoot requests from multiple operation sites within R.F. MacDonald Co. (RFM)
- Complete general office administrative duties including data entry, scanning, organizing file systems, and answering phones
- Concentrate on EHS software programs and system tools to capture data and information essential to Health and Safety operations
- Assist and respond to inquiries related to Safety aspects via email, phone, or software tools
- Assist the Head of Safety with accident investigations for on-site or off-site locations
- Aid in updating Policies and Safety Protocols, including manual and system updates
- Prepare reports for Manager’s on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis
- Organize safety file systems using Network Systems
- Research and maintain updates on changing federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Communicate with Employees, Managers, Vendors, and Customers as needed
Requirements And Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Secondary Education with a focus on Administration or Environmental Health and Safety curriculum is desired
- Customer Service focus and understanding of priority escalations
- Critical thinking and identification of potential Safety Risks requiring Department Leadership attention
- Proficient use of computers, especially Outlook and Microsoft Office software
- Adaptability to various office environments
- Proficiency in typing and drafting communications
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proactive follow-up skills and time-sensitive requirements
- Basic knowledge of health and safety, workers' compensation, and risk factors associated with employer operations, with emphasis on California and Nevada requirements
Work Environment
- Office setting
- Regularly works with talking or hearing
- Limited deskbound role but requires filing, reproducing, and binding materials
- Occasional transport of Safety Equipment for training or issue to employees
- Requires hand and finger use for handling, feeling, or operating objects, tools, and controls
- Ability to lift files and light boxes, open filing cabinets, bend, stand on a stool, climb stairs, reach with hands and arms, squat, talk, and prepare training and meeting rooms/spaces as necessary
Travel
- Occasional travel to various worksites on occasion as needed based on work requirements or safety training schedule
