About the role

A Safe and Secure / Environment Health and Safety Associate supports the day-to-day execution of Environmental, Health & Safety programs at a site level, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and properly document the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center entrance and exit gates.
  • Ensure proper protocols are followed with egress and digress procedures.
  • Provide assistance during emergencies.
  • Lead routine patrols of the Inspection Center and Logistics facility yard and buildings, documenting any security and/or safety concerns.
  • Train and become certified on life-saving measures such as first aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Partner with the Safe and Secure Team Lead and Manager to support various requests related to badge creation, CCTV reviews, and other components.
  • Remain incident-ready and ensure appropriate actions are taken when incidents occur.
  • Execute facility Safe and Secure Principles at entrances and exits, utilizing Safe and Secure Application (SAS App) and RFID technology.
  • Deliver a service-first approach in all activities.
  • Conduct routine safety observations, walkthroughs, and inspections across the site.
  • Support EHS training delivery and track employee completion records.
  • Maintain safety equipment inventory (PPE, first aid, fire extinguishers, etc.).
  • Help manage OSHA recordkeeping and required regulatory documentation.
  • Monitor and document environmental compliance activities (waste disposal, spill kits, etc.).
  • Assist with corrective action follow-up and closure tracking.
  • Support new hire safety orientations.
  • Escalate safety concerns and hazards to the site EHS Manager or SAS leadership.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience within a customer service environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of strong decision-making in a complex environment.
  • Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to handle conflict situations in a positive way.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CCTV, RFID, Card Access, and other Safe and Secure Technology.
  • Previous experience supporting an OSHA program – Safety Team.
  • Previous experience supporting crisis prevention and/or response plans.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • This job position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
  • Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
  • Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
  • Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
  • Requires frequent driving and computer data entry.
  • Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
