Position Summary
CREC seeks a talented PE/Health teacher for a teaching position at The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts High School (GHAA). Please apply if you are a committed educator looking to work in a diverse school setting with a social justice mindset.
Duties/Responsibilities
Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning.
Develop grade-level appropriate lesson plans and instructional materials for students.
Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential activities, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual students' needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Physical Education, PK-12 (044).
Health, PK-12 (043)-cross endorsement for health is preferred but candidates without a health certification will be considered on a case by case basis.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
