Job Summary
The Head Varsity Cheer Coach/Associate Director of Administration is responsible for all aspects of the cheer program as well as being committed to the mission of DIA and the University of Illinois. Working under the guidance of executive leadership, this position is responsible for the daily oversight of the cheer program as well as implementation of strategic initiatives assigned by the administration.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the cheer program.
- Implement strategic initiatives assigned by the administration.
- Maintain the highest standards and industry practices related to cheerleading.
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and University rules and regulations.
- Display professionalism and integrity that builds and maintains trust between student-athletes and fellow DIA staff.
- Prioritize and contribute to the life-changing student-athlete experience.
- Adhere to University, DIA, Big Ten, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Commitment to the Athletics Department and University's mission and values.
- Flexible to various scheduling to include nights, weekend work, and some holidays, team travel.
- Maintain professional competency and skills required for professional practice.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience: 2 years cheerleading coaching experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree, 5 years cheerleading coaching experience

Appointment Information
- This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis.
- The expected start date is as soon as possible after 8/10/2026.
- Salary range is $60,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience.
- Work authorization is not available for this position.
