Shore United Bank is seeking a Branch Banking Supervisor to support the day-to-day leadership and operational effectiveness of the branch by overseeing service delivery, workflow coordination, and team performance. This role supports retail banking objectives by ensuring a consistent customer experience, operational compliance, and efficient execution of branch processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates operational functions of staff by scheduling work, providing direction, monitoring workflow, assisting with transactions, balancing, and maintaining daily cash items, supplies, opening/closing the office, preparing reports, and resolving problems according to bank policies.
  • Establishes new banking relationships through conversations based on financial needs.
  • Provides account servicing and maintenance, including address changes, ATM card disputes, and online banking setup/password resets.
  • Works closely with bank partners for client referrals to Merchant, Wye Financial, Commercial Relationship Managers, and Branch Lenders.
  • Coaches the team to refer bank products and services to customers during daily transactions.
  • Opens new consumer and business accounts, including CDs, IRAs, and safe deposit boxes.
  • Supports branch goals by coaching and motivating staff to identify opportunities for customer relationship enhancement.
  • Directly supervises the teller line to provide efficient and accurate services, including loan payments, deposits, withdrawals, and complex transactions.
  • Balances and maintains currency and coin to ensure adequate cash supply.
  • Performs operational duties, including processing transactions while maintaining audit standards, security, and control functions.
  • Conducts banking transactions such as cashing checks and accepting deposits.
  • Issues cashier’s checks and money orders.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all obtained information.
  • Reviews daily reports and ensures necessary corrections are made.
  • Performs monthly security and alarm checks; sends documentation to the Security Officer.
  • Monitors drawer shortages and discrepancies, managing them according to bank policies.
  • Conducts monthly audits of teller drawers.
  • Maintains the teller area to ensure the safety of negotiables and confidential records.
  • Promotes timely and courteous service by answering questions, providing friendly and accurate service, and making referrals as needed.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Keeps personnel informed and updated on pertinent policies and procedures.
  • Conducts regular one-on-one meetings and mentors staff.
  • Helps conduct branch team meetings and morning huddles.
  • Demonstrates compliance awareness by completing required regulatory and compliance training (e.g., BSA, CRA, ECOA) on time.
  • Consistently demonstrates the company’s core values through behaviors, actions, and decisions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Bank Teller.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and develop a team; prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of bank policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of bank products and services.

Work Environment

This role operates in a branch office setting, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and multifunction devices, as well as cash/coin counters and teller cash recyclers. The position requires standing, walking, and moving throughout the branch for extended periods, performing routine tasks, and managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds of bulk coin/currency are required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23.00 to $27.00 hourly. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure, and skill level.

Schedule

Full-time (35-40 hours per week), non-exempt. Days of work: Monday-Friday, with rotating Saturdays. Closed Sundays and all Federal Holidays.
