About the role
The role involves operating a customer service window to provide exceptional customer service, resolving issues, and suggesting solutions. It also includes providing technical direction and training for other representatives.
Responsibilities
- Establishing accuracy and balancing skills with maintaining a balancing rate of 85% in accordance with Retail Policies and Procedure manual.
- Using Bank’s Computer Systems and knowledge of S&T policies and procedures to operate a customer service window efficiently and accurately.
- Utilizing computer systems to identify customers, verify transactions, and protect the bank from fraud.
- Accepting checks for cashing, identifying customers, verifying endorsements and balances, and referring customers to branch management for authorization.
- Processing deposits and withdrawals and performing related duties.
- Providing additional customer services, such as bank money orders and other services.
- Accepting various loan payments or other types of payments.
- Balancing cash window daily.
- Ensuring completion of ATM balancing & settlements and Vault balancing daily.
- Ensuring satisfactory Operation Assessment Readiness audit.
- Demonstrating knowledge of Consumer Bank Customer Service Standards and providing exceptional customer service as measured by Avannis surveys.
- Working directly with and supporting branch leadership, contributing to branch goals and sales/service standards.
- Executing professional sales and service behaviors in alignment with Bank’s Our Shared Future purpose, five values, and core drivers.
- Using the Sales & Service Opportunity tool to track customer introductions.
- Identifying customer needs and promoting the bank's services, answering questions, and directing customers to other branch team members for specialized products, solutions, and services.
- Processing night deposits, mail deposits, and safe deposit admittance as needed.
- Maintaining branch and business line reports, reconciliations, and logs.
- Supporting branch operations, including keeping departments like Wealth Management, Mortgage, and Business Banking balanced and compliant.
- Maintaining a good working relationship with bank employees in other departments.
- Attending and completing training as needed.
Requirements
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized training or a two-year degree. Two to five years of general and specialized experience, specifically having the knowledge to prepare balance reports. Successful completion of the retail training program is required.
Physical Demands
- Operating a keypad device: 70% of the day.
- Operating electronic equipment: 10% of the day.

- Standing: 2 hours per day in a straight position.
- Sitting: 5 hours per day in a leaning position.
- Routinely lifting up to 10 lbs., 2 times per day.
- Maximum lift: 20 lbs., one time per day.
- Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Uses manual dexterity skills for typing and data entry up to 40% of the business day.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision of 18”-20” for computer work.
