Head Teacher - Southport Elementary

Responsibilities

• Assist in management of assigned site in Administration, Program Content, Staff Team, and Community Relations.
• Accountable for program quality management, program safety, staff relations, staff recognition, and training.
• Work with other site staff to develop and enrich childcare activities.
• Available to work a regular schedule of 30 hours per week, with shifts consisting of approximately 6 hours per day.
• Maintain daily open/close of center in collaboration with Site Director.
• Complete administrative responsibilities as assigned by Site Director.
• Keep all written records up to date (sign in/out).
• Maintain individual files on each child with all required information.
• Aid in establishing and training staff team in emergency procedures.
• Serve as liaison between Site Director and staff.
• Aid in ongoing training of site staff and provide leadership for staff team.
• Interact daily with parents, ensuring positive YMCA image.
• Ensure site meets or exceeds licensing standards at all times.
• Plan and implement Preschool/Afterschool program to include all elements of program design.
• Maintain clean, attractive, and orderly environment.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent plus 2 years of college.
• Possess or be actively working towards a college degree.
• At least two years of work experience with a comparable age group.
• 12 Units of college credits in related fields accepted by licensing.
• TB Clearance.
• Clearance of work related physical.
• Current certification in Pediatric First Aid and Community CPR.
• Fingerprint/Child Abuse Index clearance.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• College degree preferred.
• Two years of work experience with a comparable age group.
• 12 units of college credits in related fields.

Pay

USD $19.00 - USD $21.00 /Hr.

Schedule

Regular schedule of 30 hours per week, with shifts consisting of approximately 6 hours per day. May vary based on department needs and may include occasional evenings or weekends for staff meetings, trainings, or special events. Seasonal changes may occur based on program needs.
