Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment at the beginning of each shift, ensuring all safety devices and emergency switches are operational.
- Operate a stretcher mechanism to stretch aluminum parts after cooling.
- Make dimensional checks during setup and periodically during the production run to ensure parts are within tolerance.
- Ensure parts are in compliance with customer orders and specifications.
- Communicate to the Team Lead/Press Operator when surface defects are seen or a part cannot be properly stretched.
- Ensure quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation.
- Report any unsafe conditions to Lead/Supervisor/Management.
- Ensure cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
- Participate in all established company health and safety training programs and comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Frequent mental and visual attention with intermittent checking.
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a hot environment.
Work Environment
- Near moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to airborne particles and chemicals.
- Noise level is usually very loud.
- Required to wear safety glasses, hard hat, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
- Gloves are job-specific.
