About the role

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District seeks a Head Softball Walk-on Coach for their high school team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement coaching strategies to enhance player skills and performance.
  • Manage team practices and games, ensuring adherence to league rules and regulations.
  • Work closely with the athletic director and other coaches to coordinate team activities and events.
  • Provide support and guidance to student athletes, including academic and personal development.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Certificates: Concussion in Sports Certification, Heat-related Illness Certification, AED, Mandated Reporter and Sexual Harassment Training.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Current Resume.

Qualifications

  • Experience coaching high school softball.
  • Strong background in sports administration and education.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community members.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and/or CIF rules and regulations.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

$5,338 single rate, plus an additional stipend as per the Co-Curricular Stipend Rate.

Schedule

Part-time position for the 2026 - 2027 school year.
