Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Perform all job duties in a manner consistent with NCAA, conference, and University rules, regulations, ordinances, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Five years of college coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level.
- History of successful recruiting.
- Knowledge of Michigan recruiting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the University’s insurance carrier.
Desired Qualifications
All qualifications listed as minimum, additional, or desired are preferred. Qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable or equivalent by Oakland University may be considered.
About the Role
Administer an educationally sound competitive softball program for female student-athletes, within the rules and policies of any conference Oakland University may enter and NCAA legislated guidelines, and within the assigned fiscal budget as allocated.
Plan and implement all phases of a competitive national-level NCAA Division I softball program, including:
- Student-athlete recruitment and retention.
- Scheduling, conducting practice sessions, and conditioning programs.
- Fundraising and public relations activities.
- Scouting and game preparation.
Administer a sound and productive recruiting program within university policies. Provide assistance as necessary with departmental fundraising and public relations programs. Perform other duties outside of those related to softball as assigned by the director.
