Head of Transportation

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Head of Transportation to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This leader will oversee transportation operations across a multi-location retail network, with a focus on improving efficiency, execution, and service quality. The role will partner closely with operations, analytics, and executive stakeholders to shape network decisions that support both customer and consignor experience. A strong mix of strategic thinking, quantitative analysis, and carrier management will be essential in driving measurable business impact. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on logistics leadership with the ability to translate data into recommendations for senior leadership. This position will also be responsible for strengthening third-party carrier relationships and helping manage shipping economics across the organization.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Lead a team managing product movement across multiple locations and drive operational efficiencies
• Improve customer and consignor experiences through strategic network changes
• Build and maintain analytics models for shipping P&L and key performance metrics
• Partner with cross-functional teams to interpret analytics findings and present executive recommendations
• Negotiate with third-party carriers to strengthen logistics partnerships

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations
• 2-3 years in management consulting or finance preferred
• Experience in ecommerce fulfillment or retail transportation
• Strong quantitative analysis and modeling skills
• Ability to manage operational execution while keeping the big picture in mind
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite tools

Pay

$150,000 – $180,000 annually
