Head of Security and IT

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

About the role

This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Media environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead security and compliance strategy, including the SOX/SOC 2 control environment
• Oversee and enhance identity and access management across various platforms
• Maintain cloud security across the AWS production environment
• Act as an AI adoption champion across the company
• Manage IT operations for a hybrid workforce and ensure effective device management
• Proactively oversee certificate and infrastructure hygiene practices
• Lead and develop a 5-person security and IT team
• Collaborate with the CTO on aligning security priorities with business goals

Qualifications

• 8+ years in security and/or IT leadership, with 3+ years of team management experience
• Hands-on experience in security engineering, architecture, identity & access management, or vulnerability management
• Experience managing SOX and/or SOC 2 compliance programs with external auditors
• Familiarity with IAM tooling (Okta, Google Workspace) and cloud security platforms (Wiz or similar)
• Knowledge of AWS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Outstanding executive-level communication skills, able to convey technical risks in business language
• Passion for integrating AI tools into IT and compliance
• Experience in fintech or regulated environments is highly valued

Pay

$150,000 – $180,000 annually
