Head of ResearchAbout the role Deeter Analytics is a privately held investment research and trading firm managing its own capital across public markets. After years of discretionary success, we think we have some unique ways of seeing the market, and we pair sharp human judgment with modern AI to act on them. Research at our firm is not a department; it happens across the organization, from real-time news monitoring to deep thematic work. We're hiring a Head of Research to own the whole: deciding what signal reaches our decision-makers, in what form, and why, at the speed markets move. You'll sit between the firm's information flow and its investment decisions, turning broad theses into researched, actionable options and making sure early narrative shifts get escalated rather than buried. As the function grows, you'll shape how the firm reads, researches, and reacts to the world. What you’ll own The information architecture. Own the flow connecting analysts, real-time news monitoring, and the investment decision-maker, in both directions: theses translated down into research, signal escalated up before consensus reprices it.Narrative intelligence. Continuously map prevailing and emerging market narratives: what's gaining traction, where, and why, and identify the inflection points before they're obvious.Thesis development. Take a broad, one-line investment view and turn it into researched, decision-ready options. Pressure-test ideas as a sparring partner, not a memo-writer.The research team. Understand each researcher's strengths, edge, and process individually, and build that into a coherent team capability with a rising standard.AI leverage. Use modern AI tools aggressively to widen coverage, synthesize at scale, and sharpen signal, without letting them become a crutch. The filter. The single success criterion: the decision-maker's attention is measurably better spent because you exist. Who you are We hire for demonstrated judgment and how you think, not for pedigree. You've spent enough time in and around markets to understand how a discretionary investor sees the world; that could come from investment research, a trading desk, macro or thematic work, or serious independent investing. Whatever the path, you can show you have exceptionally strong judgment. We look for evidence that you are: Genuinely curious. You read about things that fascinate you, follow threads with no immediate payoff, and form views on your own.An independent thinker. You can hold a view, defend it, and change it when the evidence warrants. You'd rather be early and wrong than late and safe.Fluent in how markets think. You understand what signal looks like versus noise, why timing matters, and how narratives move prices and positioning.A crisp communicator. You take something complex and make it clear without losing what matters, at speed.Low ego, truth-seeking, and driven. Quick to update your read when the facts change, and hungry to be stretched. How you work Self-directed. This environment has low guardrails by design. Nobody will hand you a framework or set your priorities. You figure that out, and that energizes you rather than unsettles you.Signal over noise. You're relentless about filtering. Your instinct is to surface the few things that matter, framed for decision, rather than forwarding everything.First-principles. You deconstruct incentives, second-order effects, and hidden dependencies rather than accepting the surface narrative.AI-native. Fluent with modern AI tools and able to get real research leverage from them, while treating their output with a trust-but-verify discipline.Fast and collaborative. You operate at the speed of markets, communicate concisely, and make the people around you sharper. Core skills Markets fluency. A working understanding of how a discretionary investor thinks about catalysts, positioning, and time horizons across asset classes.Narrative tracking. Reading which stories are gaining traction, where, and why, and spotting the moment they inflect.Synthesis & communication. Turning sprawling, ambiguous inputs into crisp, contextual, decision-ready views under time pressure.Research versatility. The ability to research anything quickly and rigorously, including domains you've never touched before.Team development. Raising the standard of the researchers around you: process, edge, and output. What we offer A direct line to the founder and a seat beside the decisions your work informs.A well-capitalized firm with a distinctive approach to markets and real room to shape how research works. An environment that will genuinely stretch you, with the autonomy to match.Significant upside tied to the quality, durability, and impact of your insight.
