About the role

We are looking for an Operational Resilience & Vendor Management Specialist to join our Manchester office on a full-time, hybrid basis (2-3 days per week). This role is pivotal in overseeing, managing, and evolving our Operational Resilience and Third-Party Vendor Management functions. You will deputise for the Operational Resilience Manager and Third-Party Vendor Manager across key 1st Line of Defence topics, including business continuity, operational resilience, third-party vendor management, outsourcing oversight, and emergency management.

The role focuses on operational resilience and third-party vendor management reporting, incident reporting, regulatory documentation, policy reviews, and maintaining regulatory awareness. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with current and upcoming regulatory topics.

Responsibilities

  • Draft incident summaries, root cause analyses, lessons learned, and remediation plans; track actions, vulnerabilities, and escalations to governance forums.
  • Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and alignment with Operational Resilience frameworks, including annual reviews, self-assessments, and plan updates.
  • Ensure resilience documentation reflects current processes, people, systems, and third-party dependencies.
  • Conduct impact analyses and identify critical business services; assess operational impacts, tolerances, and time-critical activities.
  • Evaluate third-party resilience, including vendor capabilities and contractual obligations.
  • Develop, maintain, and own the incident reporting process in line with PRA/FCA regulations (PRA SS1/26).
  • Monitor important third-party arrangements, SLA performance, and KPIs.
  • Onboard and manage the lifecycle of vendors, including contract reviews and updates to third-party inventories and systems records.
  • Support contract assessments, remediation, and regulatory compliance validations.
  • Draft, review, develop, and maintain policies, regulatory submissions, guidelines, and procedures (e.g., Operational Resilience Policy, Business Continuity Plan, Wind Down Plans, Third-Party Risk policies).
  • Monitor regulatory developments (FCA, PRA, Lloyd’s) and conduct impact assessments.

Requirements

  • Experience working in Operational Resilience or Third-Party Vendor/Risk Management within a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of Operational Resilience, Outsourcing, Vendor Management, and Business Continuity regulations (Lloyd’s, FCA, and PRA).
  • Experience in the insurance industry, with knowledge of regulatory standards for insurance.
  • Excellent report writing skills, including preparing reports, policies, and presentations for senior management, committees, or boards.
  • Ability to challenge, support, and engage with the business at all levels, presenting balanced opinions, findings, and recommendations.
  • Pragmatic, solutions-oriented, and conscientious with a focus on collaboration and stakeholder relationships.
  • Proven experience achieving results in a multifunctional, inclusive, and international environment.
