This role reports to Ashish Mohindroo, SVP & General Manager. You will be leading a global team of top-notch product management professionals focusing on our Nutanix Database Product offerings.
About the role
We are seeking a visionary, strategic, and technical Head of Product Management for Nutanix Database Service (NDB) to lead our fast-growing database management platform for hybrid clouds. As the Head of Product Management - NDB, you will own the end-to-end product strategy, roadmap, and execution for our next-gen database management platform. You will lead a high-performing global team of product managers, collaborating closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and partners to redefine how enterprises manage their SQL, NoSQL and Vector databases across hybrid clouds for mission-critical, cloud-native and AI workloads.
Responsibilities
- Product Vision & Strategy: Define and execute the multi-year product strategy for next-gen Database-as-a-service (DBaaS) platform. Position NDB as the dominant leader in heterogeneous database management.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a world-class global team of Product Managers located across USA, India and Serbia. Foster a culture of high ownership, accountability, and user-centric design.
- Execution & Delivery: Work hand-in-hand with Engineering leadership to deliver scalable, secure, and intuitive enterprise-grade products. Maintain a rigorous focus on speed-to-market without sacrificing quality.
- Market & Customer Insights: Spend time with Global Enterprise CIOs, Sr. IT leaders, and industry analysts (Gartner, Forrester) to deeply understand market trends, regulatory compliance needs, and customer pain points.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to define Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies, pricing, packaging, and enablement that accelerate pipeline and adoption.
- Platform Integration: Ensure seamless integration of NDB within the broader Nutanix Cloud Platform ecosystem, delivering a unified "single pane of glass" experience for our customers.
Requirements
- Required Domain Expertise: Deep, practical experience within the Database Management landscape is strictly required, specifically holding a proven track record of designing, building, or scaling sophisticated data management solutions or Managed database services.
- Experience: 12+ years of product management experience in enterprise software, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director/VP) managing global teams.
- Scale: Proven track record of scaling enterprise software products from early traction to $100M+ in ARR.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to converse deeply with engineers about databases, APIs, cloud-native architecture, and AI/ML-driven automation.
- Strategic Clarity: Exceptional ability to distill complex, ambiguous market dynamics into a clear, actionable product roadmap.
- Communication: A masterful storyteller who can inspire internal teams, command the room with executive stakeholders, and build trust with enterprise customers.
Schedule
Subject to business requirements, this role may be determined to be remote or in a hybrid capacity. If the selected candidate resides within 50 miles of a Nutanix office requiring in-office presence (specifically in San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Vancouver, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney, or Tokyo), it will require working onsite a minimum of three days per week. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by the hiring manager.
Pay
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $306,000 and USD $611,000 per annual OTE. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave).
