The Role Own the design vision and quality bar for an AI-native video security platform used by security and operations teams to monitor, investigate, and respond to real-world incidentsTurn complex workflows (live video, AI detections, multi-site operations, access control, and incident response) into intuitive, high-confidence product experiencesWork as a player-coach, staying hands-on in the design work while building and leading the team that will scale with usHire exceptional designers, set the standards and rituals they work by, and help them grow into strong product thinkersPartner closely with product and engineering leadership, speak directly with customers, and shape how design influences product strategy across the companySuit a systems-minded design leader who enjoys solving technically complex B2B problems and building a team from the ground up in an early-stage environment Responsibilities Set the product design vision and strategy for Coram AI, and own the quality and consistency of the experience across desktop and mobileBuild the design team from the ground up: define the roles we need, run hiring, and attract and close top design talentLead, mentor, and develop designers through regular feedback, design critiques, and clear career growth pathsEstablish the design processes, rituals, and standards that let the team move quickly without sacrificing craftStay hands-on with key product areas, including natural language video search, custom AI alert setup, interactive camera walls, and incident deep-dive investigationsGuide the design of critical operations like multi-site security oversight, role-based access control, visitor management, and emergency response coordinationOwn and evolve Coram AI's UI component library and design system in Figma to ensure speed, accessibility, and visual consistency at scaleChampion user research and make sure the team talks directly with security operators, IT directors, and facility leaders to understand workflows and validate solutionsPartner with product and engineering leadership on roadmap planning, prioritisation, and how design shapes product direction We're on a mission to transform a $50B+ legacy industry by bringing the power of cutting-edge multimodal LLMs and computer vision to real-world security and operations.
