The Role
The Head of Procurement & Supply Chain will play a crucial role in enabling supply for Andromeda's platform. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, this individual contributor role focuses on understanding and managing the global compute supply chain to support GPU cluster build-outs and optimize resource acquisition.
Responsibilities
- Understand the global compute supply chain and provide strategic insights to the platform
- Enable GPU cluster build outs from start to finish
- Analyze Bill of Materials and advise on optimizing various trade-offs
- Interact with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), integrators, and parts suppliers across the ecosystem
- Negotiate with suppliers to improve economic outcomes
- Advise on trade-offs between SKUs, parts, and cluster design
- Cultivate Open Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and white-box channels
- Manage relationships with networking vendors, storage partners (such as WEKA, VAST, Pure, DDN), and power/cooling/CDU vendors
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, such as supply chain in compute
- Existing network of contacts within the compute market (OEMs, suppliers, neoclouds)
- Deep understanding of the GPU compute market and its dynamics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of interfacing with both technical and commercial stakeholders
- Sound judgment in making decisions that affect revenue and costs
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations and able to make autonomous decisions
- Self-motivated and energetic, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
- Bias towards action in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field
- Knowledge of GPU compute technologies and their market dynamics
- Ability to analyze and optimize Bill of Materials
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Experience in managing diverse supplier ecosystems
- Understanding of storage and power/cooling solutions
