About the role
The Head of Portfolio & Credit Administration supports the relationship between Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Commercial Administration, and Documentation staff. Key responsibilities include fostering strong teamwork, driving process improvement, developing consistent processes, ensuring loan compliance, managing portfolio reporting requirements, overseeing workflow processes, and managing credit underwriting.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Commercial Credit Analysis and Commercial Administrative Portfolio Managers
- Oversee the coaching, mentoring, and development of Commercial Credit Analysts and Commercial Administrative Portfolio Managers
- Develop Commercial Credit Analysts to improve consistency, standards, and quality of commercial loan underwriting for new credit requests, amendments, modifications, renewals, and waivers
- Proactively manage resources to support portfolio workflow including new loan requests and ongoing credit administration requirements in collaboration with relationship managers and team leaders
- Underwrite new credit requests and modifications as needed
- Manage the team and oversee the process of tracking and reporting for: financial statement collection, covenant tests, annual reviews, and ensure electronic files are up-to-date with such information
- Manage internal and external audits and oversee the tracking of any findings from the audit
- Work with Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to satisfy audit findings
- Establish a process that provides checks and balances in Underwriting and Portfolio Management with relationship managers and/or portfolio managers and teams leaders within the region
- Ensure commercial loan structures and underwriting comply with established policies and credit standards prior to appropriate approval
- Ensure compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
- 10+ years Commercial Credit and Portfolio Administration management and underwriting/analysis experience
- Ability to drive process improvement through developing procedures, job aids, and development documents
- Collaborative with strong leadership abilities, to influence and build relationships
- Depth and breadth of technical knowledge of commercial banking products and documentation
- Concrete understanding of credit compliance, policies, and standards
- Practical skill and working knowledge of applicable bank systems, including, but not limited to: FIS; electronic file system; loan operating system, and Imaging systems
- Experience working with the Microsoft Office suite of software programs

Benefits
Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
Pay
Salary Range: $96,089 - $177,069
