Head of Plumbing & Heating (on-site)
Salary range: £45,003 to £51,846 per annum plus market forces payment up to £4,383 per annum (pro-rata, dependent on qualifications and experience). Starting salary subject to college salary assessment process.
Schedule
- 35 hours per week (includes some teaching hours)
- 52 weeks a year
About the role
This is an excellent career opportunity to join the management team at Suffolk New College. You will lead on the operational and strategic aspects of Plumbing & Heating programmes within the Directorate of Engineering, Construction and Building Technology (ECBT). Working closely with the Director, you will proactively support, lead, and develop staff to deliver an exceptional learner experience.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellent people management and development skills
- Work with E3 to Level 3 vocational plumbing & heating qualifications, Level 3 Plumbing & Domestic Heating Technician Apprenticeship standards, and commercial gas
- Build and develop effective and sustainable relationships with employers, awarding organisations, and industry partners
- Apply creative and innovative approaches to deliver an exceptional student experience and outcomes
- Undertake some teaching hours
- Work at and travel between multiple campuses
Requirements
- Proven teaching expertise in a related subject area
- Relevant degree or Level 3/4 professional qualification in Plumbing and Domestic Heating/Building Services Engineering
- Maths and English at Level 2 or equivalent
- Teaching qualification at Level 5
- Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
