We built America’s most private and secure mobile carrier from the ground up, addressing critical vulnerabilities in legacy cellular infrastructure that track movements, monitor connections, and sell personal data. Today, Cape serves consumers, businesses, and government agencies, providing a secure network with unmatched privacy and security features. We closed our Series C in March 2026 and are scaling rapidly to give people control of their personal information.

The Team

As a team member, you’ll work with world-class engineers, architects, and visionaries to solve "impossible" problems and deliver mission-critical results daily.

About the Role

Cape’s Head of People owns the talent strategy and human engine behind our growth. You will guide us through scaling from 100 to 300+ people without diluting talent or slowing execution. You’ll immediately take ownership of our People org—spanning Recruiting and HR—and build out the team, starting with hiring a Head of Recruiting. Reporting directly to founder and CEO John Doyle, you’ll sit on the leadership team and influence company-level decisions.

Key Objectives

• Hire: Build a recruiting engine that attracts top talent by optimizing capacity, tooling, business partnerships, process efficiency, and planning.
• Retain: Elevate the employee experience to achieve above-industry retention, viral referrals, and continuous engagement through investments in total rewards, people systems, and career progression.
• Grow People: Transition from a team of 100 Swiss Army Knives to 300+ by refining organization structure, formalizing career advancement, and retooling performance reviews and succession planning.
• Scale the Team: Professionalize management to maintain culture, execute at scale, and develop talent by automating processes, establishing career paths, hiring leaders, and formalizing management training.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive People experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership role, with direct participation in Recruiting.
• Significant experience in a high-growth startup where you built People processes and teams from the early stages.
• Strong command of core People functions: talent acquisition, compensation, performance management, and daily operations.
• Cross-functional depth: experience working with executive and business unit leaders across the organization.

Location

NY (preferred) or DC (with frequent NY travel).

Pay

$275,000–350,000.
