Head of North American Compliance (NY)

This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: New York, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen company's compliance internal controls
• Draft, edit, and maintain compliance policies and procedures
• Oversee and enhance compliance monitoring processes
• Manage and submit regulatory reports in North America
• Assist in regulatory examinations and inquiries
• Manage and develop US-based compliance staff
• Report compliance issues to management and the board

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent required
• 10+ years of relevant experience in compliance roles
• Experience managing compliance teams with a focus on efficiency
• In-depth knowledge of SEC regulations, especially regarding credit rating agencies
• Proficient in drafting and reviewing compliance policies
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with Generative AI tools for productivity is a plus

Pay

$250,000 – $300,000 annually
