About the role

We are building marketing into a true growth engine for both our established sales-led platform and a new product-led offering launching this year. The Head of Lifecycle Marketing will define an entire function and see it move the business quickly. Today, leads that aren't ready to buy are handed to sales and, if they don't convert right away, set aside—real pipeline sitting on the table that no one owns capturing yet. This role owns it.

The wins here are unusually visible and near-term. You're not fighting an existing program for incremental gains; you're creating the motion and the lift shows up quickly. As the Head of Lifecycle Marketing, you will design how all of it works—the layer that meets each prospect and customer with the right content at the right moment, bringing in a person only when it truly counts. Lifecycle is the sharpest expression of our mandate to bring product-led efficiency into a sales-led company, spanning both growth motions.

Responsibilities

  • Turn paid demand into pipeline by building nurture programs we don't have yet, so leads that aren't sales-ready become opportunities instead of dead ends—this matters most in enterprise, where considered, multi-threaded deals make a strong nurture motion worth the most.
  • Own the entire customer journey: design automated, signal-driven programs across onboarding, implementation, adoption, and retention, leading with self-serve content, help resources, videos, and vertical- or job-to-done-specific material, escalating to a human only when it moves the needle.
  • Modernize how a sales-led company grows by replacing slow, manual plays with programs that do the work automatically and earlier, so expensive human touch is spent where it matters—this is the heart of the role and one of the company's stated priorities.
  • Work across both growth engines, serving the core sales-led business and our newer product-led offering, tailoring programs to each on shared infrastructure.
  • Bring fluency in lifecycle deep enough to lead the expansion of the product-led motion when we resource it down the road.
  • Design the marketing-to-success handoff—the automated layer that passes the baton to human success at exactly the right moment—defining that boundary and building a tight partnership with our Customer Success org.
  • Build your team and your operating model: start hands-on, then hire and lead a small team (initial target ~3) as the function proves out.
  • Set the playbook—segmentation, content mapping, measurement, cadence—that lets lifecycle scale without scaling headcount one-for-one.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of experience spanning marketing, marketing/revenue operations, or a closely related discipline, with a clear center of gravity in lifecycle management.
  • Real depth as a builder—you've stood up or substantially rebuilt a lifecycle, nurture, or marketing-automation function, and you've also run a mature one, bringing sophisticated judgment about what great looks like.
  • Strong command of lifecycle strategy end-to-end—acquisition nurture, onboarding, adoption, and retention—with real fluency in behavioral and usage-based triggers and progressive engagement design.
  • Hands-on marketing automation depth: comfortable in Marketo (our current platform) and confident helping select and operationalize what comes next, with fluency in segmentation, data flows, and how attribution and lifecycle instrumentation actually get built.
  • Fluency across sales-led and product-led motions—lifecycle will be central to the product-led motion we'll stand up down the road, and you understand it deeply enough to lead that expansion when the time comes.
  • A player-coach mindset—able to do the work now and lead a small team soon, energized by hiring and developing people.
  • A collaborative operating style that builds trust across functions—Product Marketing, Growth, Analytics/Ops, and especially Customer Success—and sets boundaries without turf battles.

Nice to have

  • B2B SaaS experience, ideally in healthcare, vertical SaaS, or another considered-purchase, multi-stakeholder category.
  • Experience where content and self-serve resources reduce cost-to-serve.

What will make us love you

  • You don't just report what happened—you walk into the room with a point of view on what it means and what we should do next, and you can defend it when challenged.
  • You've rebuilt a marketing technology stack from the ground up before—not just inherited and operated one—and you know the difference between a clean architecture and a patchwork that looks functional until it isn't.
  • You've built a nurture motion from nothing and watched it turn once-dropped leads into real pipeline, with clear lift in lead-to-opportunity conversion—especially in enterprise.
  • You've stood up automated lifecycle programs across onboarding, adoption, and retention that handle routine moments without manual effort, and you know the difference between a program that looks automated and one that actually is.
  • You've built a clean, well-run handoff between marketing and a Customer Success org—and you know that's a relationship you have to design deliberately, not one that just happens.
  • You've hired and led a team while still doing the work yourself, and you're energized by building the operating model that lets that team scale with the business.
  • You bring judgment from having run a mature lifecycle function as well as having built one from scratch, so you know what great looks like, not just what's possible with limited resources.
  • You think in both sales-led and product-led terms, and you're excited by the idea of shaping a product-led motion as it comes online rather than waiting for someone else to define it.
