About the role
The Head of Finance will lead core accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance for our client's U.S. business. Reporting to the Group Finance Director based in Europe, this role partners closely with operations, engineering, and executive leadership to provide financial visibility into project performance, capital expenditures, and overall business results.
Responsibilities
- Leads the monthly close process and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Oversees Blackline reconciliations and system uploads, produces monthly financial statements and reporting packages with narrative analysis, and presents financial results to leadership during monthly review meetings.
- Owes the 13-week cash flow forecast and ongoing liquidity analysis, supports monthly rolling forecasts and budget updates, analyzes variances between actuals, forecast, and budget, and delivers actionable financial insights to leadership.
- Ensures compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, oversees preparation and filing of returns and reports, and manages relationships with external advisors and auditors.
- Pairs with engineering and operations to track CAPEX and project budgets, monitors project costs and timelines, and manages asset capitalization processes.
- Identifies and implements process improvements, drives automation and efficiency across financial systems, and provides oversight and guidance to accounting staff as a key finance partner to operations and leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 8 to 12 or more years of experience in accounting or finance
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- ERP and financial systems experience, including tools such as Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license
- MBA
- Experience with Power BI
- Experience with tax credits and incentives
- Project or capital accounting experience
- Multi-entity or international business exposure
Compensation and Benefits
- $160,000 to $180,000 per year
