Head of Finance
About the role
ATP is hiring a Head of Finance to build and lead the finance function as we scale from pilot operations to production-scale energetic materials manufacturing. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will own all aspects of financial strategy and execution across FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, treasury / cash management, capital raising, government contracting finance (DFARS, DCAA cost accounting standards, incurred cost submissions), and building the financial infrastructure to support ATP's rapid scale-up.
You will serve as a thought partner to the CEO and CTO on capital allocation decisions across CAPEX planning, workforce planning, R&D, and facilities investments, and will support the CEO in investor, banker, and board interactions.
Responsibilities
- Own the "source of truth" for financial data across the company: setting up basic accounting and financial "plumbing" internally, processes for closing the books, designing our chart of accounts, defining and measuring financial KPIs
- Prepare monthly financial statements according to the standards above
- Techno-economics: work with engineering to build fixed-asset registers, cost models, depreciation schedules, and model different scaling plans to make truly ROIC-driven engineering decisions
- Structure and execute working capital facilities, equipment financing, and any venture debt to bridge to production scale
- Support the CEO in capital raising through building the company's financial models, preparing data rooms, and financial due diligence responses
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in an engineering discipline (mechanical, manufacturing, chemical, etc)
- 5-10 years of relevant financial experience (investment banking, private equity/credit, leveraged finance, infrastructure financing, or growth-stage startup experience)
- Experience building accounting and financial processes inside growing companies from scratch
- Experience with capital markets including preparing detailed financial models with strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- U.S. Person and ability to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to work on-site and travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in manufacturing finance operations, including planning major capital projects
- Experience with financing across the capital stack, from venture equity to structured credit, working capital financing, equipment financing, and more
- Fast learner about markets, contract structures, and intuitively understand what a startup needs to obtain the financing required for fast growth

Compensation Range: $180K - $250K
