Head of Faculty

Responsibilities

• Overall management and operation of the faculty
• Setting the strategy and developing the faculty
• Overseeing issues related to research and international activities, in cooperation with international and research representatives
• Budget preparation for the faculty in collaboration with the heads of teaching and the administrative director
• Initiating collaboration between academic programs and with other universities, institutions, and stakeholders both domestically and internationally
• Responsibility for implementing quality and human resources policies in consultation with HR and quality manager
• Active participation in professional development and institutional growth at the university

Qualifications

• A doctoral degree related to the university’s specialisations and academic qualifications
• Strong communication skills, positivity, drive, and the ability to manage change
• Leadership abilities and the ability to inspire others toward success
• Capacity to shape and communicate a vision for the future
• Ability to build and lead a team of academic staff
• Experience in administration and management is required
• Experience working in higher education is required
• Experience in research and work related to the university’s specialisations

About the Position

Salary according to the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant trade union.
The rector appoints the faculty head for a five-year term according to procedures set by the university council, and the faculty head serves under the rector’s mandate. The faculty head may serve a maximum of two terms.
Applicants must submit a cover letter along with a certificate of their academic background and work experience, a list of publications, a report on scientific work, and other relevant activities.
