AMETEK · Berwyn, PA · 1 mo ago
Information TechnologyFull-time

Reporting directly to the CIO, you will lead AMETEK’s enterprise data and analytics transformation, defining and scaling the Enterprise Data & Intelligence Layer—including platform architecture, analytics delivery, AI enablement, and enterprise data governance—in a highly decentralized operating model.

About the role

This leader will serve as the single point of accountability for the data and analytics program across the enterprise, partnering with ERP leadership, Finance, Commercial Excellence, Operations, and division IT leadership. AMETEK is undertaking a multi-year transformation to modernize its enterprise technology foundation, including ERP consolidation across SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, and other platforms, and the establishment of a centralized, governed enterprise data and analytics platform (“lakehouse”).

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Data & Analytics Strategy
    • Own and execute AMETEK’s Enterprise Data & Analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with ERP consolidation and the company’s long-term operating model.
    • Translate enterprise business priorities (growth, margin, working capital, portfolio optimization) into decision-driven analytics use cases with measurable value.
    • Lead the progression from initial pilot to enterprise rollout across all divisions, including roadmap, phasing, and operating model definition.
  • Platform & Architecture Leadership
    • Serve as the owner of the enterprise lakehouse architecture, including:
      • Data ingestion (ERP, CRM, and other sources).
      • Microsoft Fabric and Databricks platform strategy and validation.
      • Core medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold) and semantic models.
    • Ensure analytics are decoupled from transactional systems, enabling cross-ERP, cross-division insight during and after ERP migrations.
    • Evaluate and govern the responsible use of AI / advanced analytics within the enterprise platform.
  • Data Governance & Standards
    • Establish and enforce an enterprise data governance model that prevents metric fragmentation while respecting appropriate business unit autonomy.
    • Define and institutionalize:
      • Enterprise KPI definitions and ownership.
      • Customer, product, and end-market taxonomies.
      • Data quality, certification, and approval processes.
    • Chair or co-lead enterprise Data Governance Steering forums with senior functional leadership.
  • Analytics Delivery & Value Realization
    • Oversee delivery of enterprise and division-level analytics assets, ensuring reuse of certified KPIs and consistent semantic models.
    • Ensure analytics investments possess tangible, quantified business cases tied to revenue growth, margin protection, cost reduction, and/or working capital improvements.
    • Track adoption, usage, and realized ROI across the enterprise.
  • Operating Model & Leadership
    • Build and lead a federated Enterprise Data & Analytics organization, including:
      • Central enterprise architecture, governance, and enablement teams.
      • Matrix leadership of divisional analytics contributors aligned to enterprise standards.
    • Define the internal FTE model and partner strategy required to scale enterprise analytics sustainably.
    • Act as a senior leader within the IT Leadership Team, influencing across functional and divisional boundaries.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in enterprise data, analytics, or digital transformation roles.
  • Proven experience building and scaling enterprise data platforms in complex, decentralized organizations.
  • Hands-on leadership experience with ERP-adjacent analytics (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to establish enterprise data governance and KPI standards across autonomous business units.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including board and CEO-level presentations and value articulation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in global industrial, manufacturing, or diversified portfolio companies.
  • Direct experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, or comparable cloud platforms.
  • Track record of translating analytics into measurable financial impact (revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction).
  • Experience scaling analytics through federated or CoE-based models.

Leadership Attributes

  • Enterprise thinker with the ability to navigate federation vs. standardization trade-offs.
  • Strong bias toward outcomes, not technology for technology’s sake.
  • Credible operator with both strategic vision and execution discipline.
  • Comfortable driving change in decentralized business environments.

Pay

Salary range: $180,000 – $200,000 USD. Incentive eligible.

The actual salary offered will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, market/business considerations, and geographic location.
