Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of Citi Wealth’s Direct Private Investing (DPI) activities.
  • Originate direct private investment opportunities through personal networks and Citi’s internal networks, as well as external sources.
  • Manage the deal pipeline, including conducting initial due diligence, comprehensive review of potential transactions, sign-off on proposed deals and documentation, and presentation to Investment Operating Committees for approval.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for large Family Office clients, including ISDA negotiation and documentation requirements.
  • Oversee the monitoring of past transactions and maintain relationships with deal sponsors.
  • Collaborate on the distribution of DPI deals with Sales Specialists teams across regions, identifying client appetite and coordinating with the broader UHNW Banker and IC communities.
  • Own the DPI product program, leading the development and enhancement of its framework, governance processes, and ensuring strict adherence to global regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and news, develop proactive views, and communicate conclusions/recommendations concerning pertinent sectors and macroeconomic developments.
  • Partner with other global, regional, and country leaders to share best practices and drive business strategies, solutions, and client-centric approaches to differentiate Citi and achieve substantial growth targets.
  • Provide centralized oversight and strategic direction across all DPI activity pillars, ensuring coordination across functional teams, consistent deal standards, and an unified client experience.
  • Develop and maintain standard reporting metrics and dashboards for senior management to track pipeline activity and deal performance.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity origination or similar roles, with a demonstrated ability to source, diligence, structure, assess, negotiate, package, and market transactions of particular interest to Family Office clients.
  • Extensive experience in evaluating company investment opportunities with a proven track record of assessing quantitative and qualitative investment parameters to meet target client investor appetites.
  • Relevant financial analysis and corporate finance skills related to the evaluation of early-stage private companies.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, including Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency, with familiarity in working with large amounts of data.
  • Experience implementing complex business strategies in a corporate environment at a global level. Demonstrable time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines successfully, including the maturity to perform well under pressure and successfully manage several projects at a time.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, essential for collaboration across Investment Solutions, Investment Banking, and Capital Markets.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
