Head of Design

About the role

Aurora's Head of Design leads the design of products used by 7,000+ solar professionals daily. Key responsibilities include growing the design team, setting clear goals, providing feedback, and ensuring designs reflect customer needs and maintain high standards of craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing design team
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market to ship solutions that drive real value for customers
• Evolve Aurora's design operations by integrating research and adopting high-value changes
• Define and drive agile product development processes, tools, and infrastructure

Requirements

• 12+ years in product design, user experience design, or a related field
• 5+ years building design teams and cultures that ship technical SaaS products
• Exceptional communication skills with a track record of clarity in complex topics
• Demonstrated ability to define a product vision and get alignment across audiences
• Deep experience shipping complex tools, design systems, and multi-role products across web, iOS, and Android

Qualifications

• Solar industry experience is a plus

Pay

Compensation ranges are anchored to the median of the market for companies of our size and industry. Base pay is typically set at the start of the position's pay range and grows with experience and performance.
