Head of Data Systems

About the role

The role is a brand new position within a national homelessness charity, created to leverage the increasing importance of data and AI in the sector. The Head of Data Systems and AI will oversee a portfolio of live systems including a national workforce data hub, a strategic insights tool, and a Salesforce CRM. They will also shape the sector's understanding and use of emerging technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small technical team
• Manage supplier relationships
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to develop practical delivery roadmaps based on organizational strategy
• Translate organizational strategy into actionable plans
• Apply AI and automation tools responsibly

Requirements

• Strong data systems and architecture capability across complex, multi-platform environments
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to advise senior leaders clearly and pragmatically
• Solid understanding of information governance, UK GDPR, and data ethics, especially in contexts involving vulnerable individuals
• Practical experience with AI and automation tools, with the ability to apply them responsibly

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data systems, analytics, or digital roles with demonstrable operational delivery responsibility
• High level Salesforce experience (certifications desirable)
• Experience managing budgets, suppliers, and cross-functional delivery
• Line management experience and a track record of developing technical teams

Benefits

Pay

£66,955 (pay review pending, scale to £73,993).
