Head of Data Systems

About the role

This is a brand new role, created to reflect the growing strategic importance of data and AI across the homelessness sector. The postholder will take ownership of a portfolio of live, sector-facing systems including a national workforce data hub, a strategic insights tool, and a Salesforce CRM, while also shaping how the wider homelessness sector understands and uses emerging technology. It's a rare opportunity to bring genuine technical and strategic leadership to work that directly matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small technical team, manage supplier relationships, and work closely with senior stakeholders to translate organisational strategy into practical delivery roadmaps
• Provide influence and communication as much as technical depth

Key Skills

• Strong data systems and architecture capability across complex, multi-platform environments
• Excellent stakeholder management, able to advise senior leaders clearly and pragmatically
• Solid understanding of information governance, UK GDPR, and data ethics, particularly in contexts involving vulnerable individuals
• Practical experience with AI and automation tools, with the judgement to apply them responsibly

Necessary Experience

• 5+ years in data systems, analytics, or digital roles with demonstrable operational delivery responsibility
• High level Salesforce experience (certifications desirable)
• Experience managing budgets, suppliers, and cross-functional delivery
• Line management experience and a track record of developing technical teams

Pay

£66,955 (pay review pending, scale to £73,993).

Schedule

Hybrid with 2 days per week in central London, or fully remote.
