Head of Data Science

TRANZACT · Fort Lee, NJ · 3 wk ago
$200k/yrFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? The posting includes a description of company and role. We need to use

for section headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. We must not repeat job title. No Job ID etc. Remove boilerplate like EEO etc. Also remove application instructions. We need to preserve all substantive info. We need to parse the posting. Content: - Intro about TRANZACT: description of company, mission, team, culture, "Be Real". This could go under "About the role" or maybe "About the company". The instruction says use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. So we can put company overview under About the role. - Position Summary: description of role, responsibilities overview. Could be part of About the role or separate? Probably About the role includes position summary. - The Responsibilities Of The Head Of Data Science Include ... list of responsibilities. - Qualifications Include ... list of qualifications. - Preferred Qualifications Include ... maybe part of Qualifications or separate? Could be under Qualifications as well, but we have separate headings: Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. The posting lumps qualifications and preferred qualifications. We need to map. We have "Qualifications Include Bachelor's degree... 8+ years... Data Science experience within marketing. Needs to have done the following: [list]" That's qualifications. Then "Preferred Qualifications Include Masters... Experience in a direct to consumer, financial service, or insurance sector(s)." That's also qualifications but preferred. We also have skills: "Excellent SQL, Python, and Databricks skills. Intuitive business and analytical skills... Deep experience with successful statistical modeling, machine learning and other advanced analytics methods. Proactive, results-driven, and have a proven track record of execution. Structured thinker with exceptional verbal and written communication skills." These could go under Skills. We have Compensation And Benefits: base salary range $200,000 and above per year, eligible for annual bonus program. Benefits list. We have "Hybrid work schedule in Fort Lee, NJ" under Qualifications? Actually it's in Qualifications list: "Hybrid work schedule in Fort Lee, NJ". That's schedule info. Thus we have Pay (base salary and bonus), Benefits (list), Schedule (Hybrid work schedule in Fort Lee, NJ). Also maybe location. We must not include sections with placeholder text. All sections have real content. We must not include boilerplate like EEO etc. Remove that. We must not include duplicated lines. We must not include application instructions. We need to output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown fences. Thus produce something like:

About the role

TRANZACT is a leading direct-to-consumer insurance services business...

... maybe include position summary. Then

Responsibilities

  • ... each responsibility
Then

Qualifications

  • ... each qualification
Maybe separate

Preferred Qualifications

but not in allowed headings list. The allowed headings are About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. So we should not create a separate heading for Preferred Qualifications; we can incorporate them into Qualifications or Skills. Probably Qualifications includes both required and preferred; we can note "Preferred" within items. Similarly Skills heading: we can list skills. Benefits heading: list benefits. Pay heading: base salary and bonus. Schedule heading: hybrid work schedule. We must ensure we don't create empty sections. Let's extract substantive content. About the role: combine company description and position summary. Company description: "TRANZACT is a leading direct-to-consumer insurance services business, specializing in the distribution of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Life & Supplemental insurance policies. Our focus is on leveraging our highly skilled team of over 3,000 professionals to deliver innovative solutions for our insurance carrier partners and provide consumers with a best-in-class experience. We work with some of America’s largest insurance brands to attract, educate and connect with consumers. Our diverse team of analysts, writers, engineers, designers, business leads, data scientists and sales professionals all work together to create thoughtful, data-driven and effective marketing, technology, sales and servicing strategies. These efforts have resulted in TRANZACT earning recognition and winning awards from some of the biggest names in the industry. When you become part of TRANZACT, you join a team of passionate people who push for excellence, follow through on commitments, and love to succeed together. Our culture rests on a simple principle – “Be Real” – that means being genuine, keeping your word, and having the courage to make tough decisions. Our “Be Real” values resonate and are meaningful to us. We are entrepreneurial, fast paced and empower our people. We know how to make things happen and know that our people are always the source of our success." Position Summary: "TRANZACT is looking for a hands-on data leader who thrives at the intersection of high-impact analytics, people development, and strategic influence to help shape the future of our data science organization by bringing deep technical mastery, a passion for mentorship, and a vision for what data can do when aligned with bold business goals. As the Head of Data Science, you will oversee and support advanced analytics projects that impact the entire sales funnel and touch all of our product categories. You’ll drive delivery of a wide range of ML models and advanced analytics including predictive modeling, segmentation, lead scoring, marketing optimizations as well as crafting data stories and presentations of key findings to stakeholders. Your primary role will be to put Data Science in the center of all our marketing and business decisions. To get there you need to have a deep understanding of data science marketing, what works, where to find leverage and how to build a team around driving best in class marketing outcomes. This is not a support role. While the marketing team may come to your team for help with certain analyses, your team’s primary role is to find areas of opportunity for marketing to execute against." We can combine. Responsibilities list: - Help develop Data Science team’s project and roadmap in line with business objectives and strategic opportunities. - Lead and oversee a team of (5) data scientists and analysts to deliver best-in-class impactful models and analysis. - Day-to-day collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand evolving business needs and develop effective analytics solutions and models. - Execute on a model strategy roadmap to continuously improve accuracy and functionality of models and business outcomes. - Drive data science initiatives to improve customer engagement and operational efficiency through personalization and effective targeting. - Deliver on varied projects such as customer audience segmentation, propensity models, and dynamic bidding algorithms. - Be an SME and key producer of forecasting model development, production, and execution, in partnership with our Enterprise Data Management and Technology teams. - Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing key insights and conclusions, often to senior leaders. - Embrace and foster a curious growth and learning mindset for the entire team. - Support a collaborative, team-oriented and client-focused organization that’s motivated by business and technical challenges. Qualifications (required): - Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or related field, and 8+ years of relevant experience. - Data Science experience within marketing. - Attribution modeling. - Audience segmentation, targeting and measurement. - Experience within clean rooms a bonus (maybe note as bonus). - Campaign lift analysis. - Predictive modeling. - KPI forecasting and scenario planning. - Funnel conversion analysis. - Geo performance and market opportunity analysis. - Marketing experimentation frameworks. - Hybrid work schedule in Fort Lee, NJ (maybe schedule but we can keep here). - Strong leadership skills and successful outcomes as a people manager. - Excellent SQL, Python, and Databricks skills. - Intuitive business and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate relevant information with attention to detail and accuracy to non-technical and senior leadership audiences. - Deep experience with successful statistical modeling, machine learning and other advanced analytics methods. - Proactive, results-driven, and have a proven track record of execution. - Structured thinker with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Masters in a quantitative or related field (i.e., Data Science, Statistics, etc.). - Experience in a direct to consumer, financial service, or insurance sector(s). Skills: Could be extracted from qualifications but we can separate: SQL, Python, Databricks, business and analytical skills, statistical modeling, machine learning, advanced analytics, communication, leadership, etc. But we already have many skill items in qualifications. To avoid duplication, we could put skills heading with those specific technical skills: SQL, Python, Databricks, statistical modeling, machine learning, advanced analytics, etc. However the instruction says prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So maybe we keep Qualifications covering both required and preferred, and Skills maybe not needed. But we have a heading Skills in allowed list; we could include if we have specific skill content not already covered. However qualifications already include SQL, Python, Databricks, etc. So we could still have Skills section but risk duplication. Better to omit Skills if content would duplicate. The instruction: "include a section ONLY when the posting has real, specific content for it — never emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text". It doesn't forbid overlapping content, but we should avoid thin sections. If we put Skills, we need to have specific content not already covered elsewhere. We could extract skills like "SQL, Python, Databricks, statistical modeling, machine learning, advanced analytics, communication, leadership". But those are already in qualifications. Might be considered duplication but still specific. However we could decide to omit Skills section and keep Qualifications only. The allowed headings are just examples; we don't have to use all. So we can omit Skills. Thus sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Qualifications, Pay, Benefits, Schedule. Check if we have content for each: - About the role: yes. - Responsibilities: yes. - Qualifications: yes (including required and preferred). - Pay: base salary $200,000 and above per year, eligible for annual bonus program. - Benefits: list of health and welfare, leave, retirement benefits. - Schedule: hybrid work schedule in Fort Lee, NJ. We must not include boilerplate like EEO etc. Remove that. Now craft HTML. We need to use

for each section heading. Use
  • for lists. Use

for prose. We need to preserve all substantive information; do not invent or summarize away detail. We must ensure we keep details like "over 3,000 professionals", "Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Life & Supplemental insurance policies", etc. Let's write About the role paragraph(s). Could be multiple

tags. We'll combine company description and position summary into maybe two paragraphs. Responsibilities: each bullet as

  • . Qualifications: list items. Pay: maybe

Base salary range: $200,000 and above per year. This role is also eligible to participate in the annual bonus program.

Benefits: list items under categories? Could just list each benefit as
  • . The posting groups: Health and Welfare Benefits: Medical (including prescription coverage), Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Group Accident, Group Critical Illness, Life Insurance, AD&D, Group Legal, Identity Theft Protection, Wellbeing Program and Work/Life Resources (including Employee Assistance Program). Leave Benefits: Paid Holidays, Annual Paid Time Off (includes state/local paid leave where required), Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Other Leaves (e.g. Bereavement, FMLA, ADA, Jury Duty, Military Leave, and Parental and Adoption Leave). Retirement Benefits: Savings Plan with annual nonelective company contribution. We'll list each. Schedule:
